Deciding
Looking for a while the activity of our dog around the farm so we will take certain actions, perhaps to hear a noise from the other side of the fence closer to inspect or choose the place that takes your fancy lying to nap. Although not based on much data as we do to make a decision, we exceeded the capacity of success. It is more likely to mistake a human than a dog.
Our decision-making process involves collecting a large amount of data, analyzing the future implications of our choices, and from there decide accordingly. The dog in turn makes it more simply, based on the equation cost / benefit , which means that among several possibilities, choose one in which the outcome of this equation is more favorable, or said Otherwise, you get a greater benefit with the lowest cost.
For example, if your dog lie down to sleep doubt among the sun or shade on a hot day in the first case the cost of moving heat is high and the profit is zero. While the second option presents a low cost, which is that the soil can be cold, and a high profit, to sleep without getting overheated. The choice then would be the second.
Humans also make decisions with the cost / benefit, but in our case the large number of factors that we can consider that we make mistakes more easily. Furthermore, while the level of dogs instincts place great help decision, humans routinely put aside conditioned by our culture, beliefs, ethics and socialization.
From this we see that both dogs and humans have very similar decision processes, although the large number of factors and conditions that allow us to use more complex reasoning also increase the chances of mistakes. In contrast, simple and instinctive process of the dogs is perfectly valid for all situations which may confront and allows a very high percentage of correct answers.
